The excursion to Perito Moreno Glacier offers an incredible meet with one of the world’s most magnificent natural wonders. Visitors can marvel at the glacier’s towering ice walls, witness breathtaking ice calvings, and explore its pristine surroundings through guided walks or boat tours. It’s an unforgettable journey into the heart of Argentine Patagonia’s glacial landscapes, leaving travelers with lasting memories of awe and wonder.
“The Nativo Experience” is a half-day excursion in a 4×4 vehicle along the coast of Lake Argentino. Ideal for arrival or departure days, it takes an anthropological approach, journeying through time to explore the footsteps of humans in these lands, rediscovering stories of the first expeditions and daring individuals who ventured into the unknown.
Amongst the cliffs and with views of the Andes Mountains, the excursion focuses on the initial encounters of those explorers with the natives, before delving into the world of the Tehuelche people. Along the lake shore lie caves where thousands of years ago, this culture left their marks on the rock, which now introduce us to their interpretation. Dinner is included in an incredible cave!

We start around 09:00 hs from your hotel in El Calafate and go directly to Los Glaciares National Park, where you can find the Perito Moreno Glacier. During the trip of 80 km, you will be able to appreciate the Patagonian steppe and mountains view.
Leaving town, we can see the Argentino Lake along with the Bahia Redonda, where it is possible to observe a large variety of birds and yellow fields due to their pasture called coirón.
On the first 40 km, we will cross the Patagonian steppe, and once inside the National Park, we will observe prominent species of trees belonging to the “notofagus” family (ñires, lengas, guindos). Once arrive at the glacier area, we can enjoy its majesty and walk through the balconies to have different views of the front side of it.
After return to the hotel in El Calafate, we will pick you up to enjoy the second part of the day: The Nativo Experience is a half-day excursion in a 4×4 vehicle along the coast of Lake Argentino.
