This full-day excursion departs from Puerto Natales and follows the dramatic Última Esperanza Fjord, taking you deep into the heart of Bernardo O’Higgins National Park, one of Chile’s largest protected wilderness areas. Your adventure begins in Puerto Natales at the agreed meeting point early in the morning. After boarding the vessel, you set off through the scenic Última Esperanza Fjord, with panoramic views of mountains, forests and waterfalls lining the fjord’s shores.
During the boat journey, the guide provides commentary on the region’s geography, natural history and native ecosystems as you approach the Balmaceda Glacier, visible from the water. A bit further along, the vessel anchors near Serrano Glacier. Here you disembark for a guided, short hike to reach a lookout point overlooking the glacier’s edge, ideal for photographs and deeper appreciation of its scale.
After enjoying the glacier views and the surrounding wilderness, you re-board and begin the return along the fjord toward Puerto Natales. The tour concludes in the late afternoon back at the original meeting point.
