The Lakes Trail Tour offers a different perspective on the flora and fauna of Torres del Paine, and views the mountain from another angle. As soon as you see the first lake, you’ll want to get out and take photos immediately.
You’ll see a lot of wildlife as we drive along the deep blue Lake Sarmiento, one of the largest in the park, and as we move away from the Paine Massif, you’ll get an incredible panoramic perspective of its immensity. Making a stop at the nearby Estancia Lazo agricultural estate, you’ll be able to see Laguna Verde and start trekking along the Lakes Route.
First, you’ll stroll through large, dense native forests of lenga trees, which open up to reveal the beautiful shores of Verde and Honda lagoons. Keep an eye out for owls, woodpeckers, guanacos, and all wildlife, and don’t forget about the small details like orchids and other wildflowers that adorn the forest floor.
We’ll temporarily exchange water for mountains and climb to a summit that offers a 360-degree view of the Paine Massif to the north, Lake Toro, and the endless Patagonian pampas to the southwest.
This guided tour starts in the morning. Departure is from the reception of Hotel Las Torres and must be booked in advance.
