DAY 1

Starting the adventure

In the morning, you will be picked up from the airport or your hotel in Punta Arenas and driven to EcoCamp Patagonia, located in the world-famous Torres del Paine National Park (check our weekly transfer menu for schedules to and from EcoCamp).

Along the way, we will make a stop in Puerto Natales, a small and vibrant town on the shores of the Last Hope Sound, where we will enjoy a comforting lunch of local cuisine. The journey is highly scenic, with plenty of wildlife and breathtaking Patagonian landscapes. The day ends with our arrival and stay at EcoCamp Patagonia, nestled in the heart of Torres del Paine National Park with a close-up view of the majestic Towers.

DAY 2

Valle del Frances (French Valley)

After breakfast, we will drive to Pudeto dock where we will board the catamaran to Pehoé. From here, we will begin the challenging trek to Valle Francés, along a steep trail that will lead us to the very heart of the famous French Valley. How far we go will depend on the walking pace of the group. A brisk walk will take us to the hanging bridge over the French River, located at the foot of the southeast face of the massif, where we will be rewarded with fantastic views of the valley. We will continue ascending to the upper section of the valley where we can admire the extensive mass of geological formations of the valley: Hoja, Máscara, Espada, Catedral, Aleta de Tiburón, and the magnificent Fortaleza. After our uphill trek, we will stop for a picnic lunch and a moment of relaxation. The day’s hike will end with a descent through undulating grasslands and bright forests as we are guided to Refugio Paine Grande.

Please note: The excursion to Valle Francés varies throughout the season, depending on the catamaran connection between Pudeto and Refugio Paine Grande.

Between October 1st and April 30th, the navigation only operates once a day, so the trek itinerary will depend on the walking pace of the passengers. (Between November 1st and March 31st, the excursion operates regularly).

DAY 3

Grey Glacier and navigation

DAY 4

Torres del Paine NP

The goal of our fourth day will be to complete the most famous trail in Torres del Paine National Park! Today, we will hike from EcoCamp through Hostería Las Torres before ascending the Ascencio Valley, located on the east face of the Torres. Mountain ranges, lenga forests, and small rivers guide the scenic hike into the valley. Our main challenge is the steep moraine, a huge mass of rocks that will lead us to the iconic Base de las Torres viewpoint, three enormous granite monoliths that are the remnants of a large cirque destroyed by glacial ice. After a challenging ascent, the Torres will eventually come into full view, towering majestically before us with the glacial lake visible below. Is there a better place in the world for lunch? After this feast of views, we will retrace our steps along the same trail through the Ascencio Valley and return to EcoCamp for a well-deserved dinner.
