The Spirit of the Glaciers Cruise

DAY 1

Welcome to the Spirit of the Glaciers! Boarding

Passengers arrive at the designated departure point and board the cruise ship in paraje “La Soledad” in Bahia Tranquila, where they are warmly welcomed by the crew. They settle into their cabins and familiarize themselves with the ship’s layout and amenities.

Once everyone is on board, there may be an introductory session or orientation where passengers receive information about the itinerary, safety procedures, and onboard facilities. They may also have the opportunity to meet the crew and fellow travelers.

As the ship sets sail, passengers gather on deck to watch as the rugged coastline of Patagonia fades into the distance. The cruise begins its journey through the pristine waters of the region, offering passengers stunning views of fjords, mountains, and glaciers.

Throughout the day, passengers have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the onboard amenities. They may lounge on the sun deck, indulge in a spa treatment, or participate in onboard activities such as lectures, workshops, or cultural performances.

Meals aboard the Spirit of the Glaciers are a highlight of the experience. Passengers are treated to delicious gourmet cuisine prepared by talented chefs using locally sourced ingredients. Dining options may include regional specialties as well as international dishes, served in elegant dining rooms with panoramic views.

As night falls, passengers can unwind with evening entertainment such as live music, dancing, or storytelling sessions. Alternatively, they may choose to simply relax under the stars and enjoy the tranquility of the Patagonian night sky.

Transfers are not included, but these are available on request from hotels in El Calafate and also estancias in the area. Just let´s know.

DAY 2

Visiting glaciers, glaciers and more glaciers...

After breakfast, we will enjoy breathtaking views as the ship navigates through the stunning landscapes of Los Glaciares National Park in Patagonia.

In the morning, you will  have the opportunity to participate in guided excursions or activities led by bilingual English-Spanish guides. These activities could include hiking in the surrounding areas, wildlife watching, or visiting nearby attractions.

The cruise continues its journey through the icy waters, offering passengers unparalleled views of glaciers, mountains, and pristine wilderness. The ship’s crew may provide commentary on the natural features and wildlife spotted along the way.

You will enjoy gourmet meals served onboard, featuring locally sourced ingredients and expertly prepared dishes. The dining experience may include both traditional Patagonian cuisine and international options, accompanied by fine wines and beverages.

Throughout the day, you have access to the ship’s amenities, including lounges, libraries, and outdoor decks. You can relax, socialize with fellow travelers, or simply take in the awe-inspiring scenery.

As the day draws to a close, you may gather for evening entertainment or presentations, which could include talks on the region’s ecology, culture, or history. Alternatively, guests may choose to stargaze from the deck or enjoy quiet moments of reflection.

DAY 3

Hiking and visit to Perito Moreno Glacier

After breafkast, passengers start their day with optional guided excursions or activities led by bilingual English-Spanish guides. These activities may include exploring secluded bays, trekking through scenic trails, or visiting points of interest along the coastline.

The cruise may navigate closer to awe-inspiring glaciers, providing passengers with unparalleled views of towering ice walls, calving events, and sparkling icebergs. The ship’s crew may offer commentary on the geological formations and glacial dynamics.

Wildlife Watching: Throughout the day, passengers have the opportunity to spot a variety of wildlife indigenous to the region. This could include sightings of seals, sea lions, seabirds, and possibly even whales or dolphins swimming in the surrounding waters.

In between excursions and activities, passengers may attend informative presentations or workshops led by knowledgeable experts. Topics may range from the ecology and conservation of the Patagonian ecosystem to the cultural heritage of the indigenous peoples of the region.

Disembark at 4:00 PM

Remember, transfer back to El Calafate or El Calafate airport is not included, but can be added on request. You also can add extra nights in a hotel if you want to extend your visit.
