DAY 1

Starting the adventure

In the morning, we will pick you up at the airport or your hotel in Punta Arenas and take you to EcoCamp Patagonia, located in the world-famous Torres del Paine National Park (check our weekly transfer schedule for pickup and arrival times at EcoCamp). Along the way, we will make a stop in Puerto Natales, a lively small town on the shores of the “Seno de Ultima Esperanza,” where we will enjoy a hearty local lunch. The journey is scenic and atmospheric, with plenty of wild birds and stunning Patagonian landscapes. The day ends with our arrival and overnight stay at EcoCamp Patagonia, situated in the heart of Torres del Paine National Park and boasting a privileged view of the majestic Towers.

DAY 2

Biking through Sarmiento Lake, Blue Lagoon and Macho Canyon

After breakfast, we will begin our biking adventure. The 11 km morning bike route follows a path through various small lagoons, giving us the opportunity to observe the flora and fauna of Torres del Paine in all its splendor until we reach Lake Sarmiento, where we will rest on the beach of this lake.

Then we will take transportation to Laguna Azul, where we will have lunch before continuing on a 14 km route following a unique track through Cañadón Macho, ending at a junction with the road near Cascada Paine.

Although this excursion is not too demanding, there are some sections of the trail that have some difficulty at the point where Cañadón Macho crosses a meadow and begins to ascend, followed by a section of undulating, slightly steep, and rocky descent.

DAY 3

Kayaking on the Grey River

After breakfast at EcoCamp, we will head to the Serrano area in the western sector of the park, arriving at Base Serrano around 9 AM. From here, we will board another vehicle and head to the Pingo River where we will participate in a safety briefing (approximately 20 minutes). Then it will be time to get on the water. Once in the kayaks, we will gently paddle with the river current towards the Grey Lake Peninsula to see the impressive icebergs breaking off from the glacier. After enjoying the moment, it will be time to continue downstream along the Grey River for the next 3 hours. At Grey Bridge, we will stop to have our packed lunch before continuing downstream to the confluence of the Grey and Serrano rivers. Around 20 minutes later, we will return to where our adventure began, Villa Serrano, after an incredible day on the water. Then we will take the van back to EcoCamp for our evening snack and dinner.

DAY 4

Horseback riding in Torres del Paine

After a hearty breakfast at EcoCamp, we will begin around 9:30 AM with an induction talk before setting out on our 13 km journey.

As you ride along the shores of the deep Nordenskjöld Lake, expert gauchos will teach you how to ride. With the wind in your hair, the sound of the lake, and the steady rhythm of the horses’ movements, you will feel Patagonia and its roots. You will create a genuine connection with nature and feel the power of living in the moment.

Mount Almirante Nieto and its hanging glacier will remain motionless on the horizon. You will appreciate various viewpoints and Patagonian flora as you cross pristine rivers and dense forests on horseback. We will venture into the Asencio Valley and cross the Asencio River, where you can appreciate an ecotone: the intersection of two different ecosystems. The forest and the pampas transition between each other, blending in a unique way in the middle.

After a full day of observing the landscapes and sounds of the area, we will return to EcoCamp around 4 PM to rest and enjoy a cocktail in the evening.

DAY 5

Trekking to Base Torres

After a hearty breakfast, we will set out on foot from EcoCamp towards Hostería Las Torres and take the path that ascends towards the Ascencio Valley, located on the east face of the towers. Arid mountains, lenga forests, and small rivers line the scenic route to the valley. Our great challenge comes when we ascend the steep moraine, a mass of rocks that leads us to one of the most famous views in the world: the Torres del Paine. The famous Torres del Paine (2,850 m) consist of three gigantic granite monoliths, the product of a great magma outpouring shaped by the forces of glacial ice. After one final effort, the towers finally reveal themselves, rising majestically before us alongside the glacial lake at their feet. Is there a better place in the world to have lunch? After enjoying the view and our picnic, we will return along the same trail through the Ascencio Valley and back to EcoCamp.
