A GREEN HOTEL
Vegetable Garden
The aim of the vegetable garden is to supply the hotel with aromatic species, edible flowers, vegetables, and specialties produced to delight guests in every dish at the La Posta Restaurant. All produce is grown agroecologically, utilizing resources efficiently: drip irrigation, fertilization with compost generated in the hotel, crop rotation and association, and the use of ecological methods for pest control. The greenhouse was constructed using recycled old windows from the hotel, once again demonstrating commitment to sustainability. Accessibility.
Flower Walk
In this walk, strategically located for guests to explore after breakfast, cut flowers are produced for all the hotel’s vases, from the reception to the coffee breaks in the convention center. Species highly adapted to the Patagonian climate are cultivated, showcasing the region’s gardening introduced by the early European immigrants.
Project Pool Planter
Observing the complexity of maintaining a 180m² water mirror economically with water and energy resources, a sustainable landscaping project was developed.
Two species were chosen for use in this large planter: lavenders, exotic plants with great hardiness and adaptation to the local climate with low water and nutritional requirements, and stipas and coirones, native species. Both species have low incidence of pests and diseases.
It’s beautiful to see these plants “dancing with the Patagonian wind”.
Waste Separation
Space at Source A waste separation hub, where hotel-generated waste is stored in containers designated for this purpose, in conditions suitable for safety and hygiene, for subsequent delivery to institutions or companies that promote its reuse or recycling.
