Day 2 ????

Excursion to the amazing Perito Moreno Glacier + Minitrekking over the ice of the glacier

Early pick up in the morning, to enjoy a full day visit to the incredible Perito Moreno Glacier.

The excursion to the Perito Moreno Glacier, including the minitrekking experience, is an unforgettable adventure in the heart of Argentine Patagonia. Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the most iconic and awe-inspiring natural wonders in the world, located in Los Glaciares National Park near the town of El Calafate.

The excursion typically starts with a scenic drive from El Calafate to the glacier, offering breathtaking views of the Patagonian landscape along the way. Upon arrival at the glacier, visitors are greeted by the imposing sight of the massive ice wall, which stretches for miles and rises hundreds of feet above the surface of Lake Argentino.

The highlight of the excursion is the minitrekking experience, where visitors don crampons and embark on a guided hike across the surface of the glacier itself. Led by experienced guides, participants traverse a series of ice formations, crevasses, and glacial pools, immersing themselves in the otherworldly beauty of the glacier.

Walking on the ice of the Perito Moreno Glacier is a truly surreal experience, offering unparalleled views of the surrounding landscape and the opportunity to witness the glacier’s unique features up close. Along the way, guides provide fascinating insights into the formation, movement, and conservation of glaciers, as well as the flora and fauna that call this icy wilderness home.

After the minitrekking adventure, visitors often have some free time to explore the viewing platforms overlooking the glacier, where they can watch and listen as massive chunks of ice calve off the glacier’s face and crash into the waters below with thunderous booms.

DAY 3

Full day boat navigation to Estancia Cristina and short trekking

After breakfast, we will enjoy another unforgettable experience in Los Glaciares National Park.

The excursion to Estancia Cristina is a classic option with a touch of adventure. Estancia Cristina is a historic ranch located in a remote and stunningly beautiful area within Los Glaciares National Park, accessible only by boat across Lake Argentino or by hiking trails.

The journey typically begins with a scenic boat ride across Lake Argentino, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers. As you approach Estancia Cristina, you’ll be greeted by the sight of the rustic ranch buildings nestled amidst the rugged Patagonian landscape.

Upon arrival, visitors have the opportunity to explore the historic estancia and learn about its fascinating history. Founded in the early 20th century by Joseph Percival Masters and his wife, the estancia played a significant role in the region’s sheep farming industry and is now a living museum, preserving the traditions and way of life of Patagonian pioneers.

During the excursion, guests can participate in a variety of activities, including guided hikes to nearby viewpoints, or simply relaxing and enjoying the tranquility of the remote wilderness.

Another memorable aspect of the excursion is the opportunity to enjoy a traditional Patagonian barbecue lunch at the estancia, featuring delicious local specialties such as grilled lamb, chorizo sausage, and freshly baked bread.

Return to the pier and transfer back to the hotel.
