As you traverse the rugged terrain surrounding the estancia, you’ll delve into the region’s rich cultural heritage, guided by knowledgeable locals who share stories of the area’s history and the traditional gaucho way of life. From open plains to dense forests, horseback riding offers a sense of adventure and exploration, allowing you to connect intimately with the natural environment and spot native wildlife along the way. With customizable itineraries catering to all skill levels, this experience promises unforgettable moments of connection with nature and the opportunity to create cherished memories in one of the world’s most spectacular settings.
There will be plenty of time here to enjoy views of Lake Guillermo and the eastern side of the Upsala Glacier, as well as the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, before beginning the 14km trek through Fossil Canyon. The fascinating Cañadón de Los Fósiles, which is around 170 million years old, has been named for its immense concentration of marine fossils, imprints of squid and jellyfish among them, left behind after the last ice age. We can observe a kaleidoscope of colors across this terrain, the canyon’s walls rising beside us as we gradually descend until reaching a ravine at the edge of the valley. Along the way, we’ll stop and tuck into our box lunches before leaving the canyon behind, having explored it fully, then arriving back at the estancia and later onward to the port.

Due to physical demands and challenging terrain, this trek is only suitable for individuals in good physical condition. This program is not recommended for people with back, hip, ankle, or knee problems.

If the reservation is for the next day, we will be attentive and send you the voucher before your excursion begins.
