Perito Moreno Glacier Tour from El Calafate

The Perito Moreno Glacier, located 78 kilometers (48 mi) from El Calafate, was named after the explorer Francisco Moreno, a pioneer who studied the region in the 19th century and played a major role in defending the territory of Argentina in the conflict surrounding the international border dispute with Chile.

What is the difference between the refundable 72-hour rate and the non-refundable rate?
The non-refundable rate is cheaper but does not allow any refunds in case you are unable to take the tour. Changes are not allowed with this non-refundable rate.
The refundable 72-hour rate allows you to cancel free of charge or make change of dates up to 72 hours before the tour begins. Both options are group activities, meaning you will share the guide and vehicle with other passengers, with pick-up from various hotels. It´s not an exclusive tour.

For a better experience, you have the option to choose a private tour.

What is the difference between the private/exclusive tour rate and the group options?
The group rates, both refundable and non-refundable, include a guide and a group of tourists. These involve picking up passengers from various hotels with whom you will share the experience, and the activity has a fixed start time. It is not a flexible activity as it is subject to the group’s schedule.

The private tour, on the other hand, is an exclusive activity with a vehicle and guide dedicated to you and your companions. The guide will only assist your group, and the pick-up time is flexible within the activity’s available options. There will be no pick-ups from other hotels as this option is exclusively for you. It has a higher cost but offers much more convenience if you are looking for exclusivity and superior service. You can cancel or change the date for your activity up to 72 hours prior of the start of the activity

We start around 09:00 hs from your hotel in El Calafate and go directly to Los Glaciares National Park, where you can find the Perito Moreno Glacier. During the trip of 80 km, you will be able to appreciate the Patagonian steppe and mountains view.

Leaving town, we can see the Argentino Lake along with the Bahia Redonda, where it is possible to observe a large variety of birds and yellow fields due to their pasture called coirón.

On the first 40 km, we will cross the Patagonian steppe, and once inside the National Park, we will observe prominent species of trees belonging to the “notofagus” family (ñires, lengas, guindos).
Once arrive at the glacier area, we can enjoy its majesty and walk through the balconies to have different views of the front side of it.
