About Us

PeritoMorenoGlacier.com, a site by RipioTurismo, celebrates South America as the vibrant garden of our world, rich in colorful landscapes, cultural heritage, gastronomy, and warm hospitality. With +20 years of expertise, we craft custom trips across Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Paraguay. Our carefully selected hotels and local partners ensure the best service possible. We cater to FITs, groups, adventure seekers, and the 50+ age group with luxury tours.

ITINERARY

We’ll kick off our journey by embarking on a scenic drive along a portion of National Route No. 3, traversing the picturesque Rio Pipo valley and the slopes of Monte Susana until we reach the Austral Fueguino Railway station, an area where former inmates of the Ushuaia prison once toiled gathering firewood.

Upon exploring the facilities, those interested can opt for a train tour (ticket not included). Meanwhile, others will continue with our guide into the National Park, meeting up again at the “Park Station” to proceed with our exploration of the park’s most captivating points and stunning landscapes. Highlights include visits to Roca Lake and Lapataia Bay, where National Route 3, a segment of the Pan-American Route, culminates.

To commence our adventure seamlessly, we offer pick-up services from the Ushuaia cruise port, ensuring a convenient and hassle-free start to our excursion. At each stop, we’ll embark on brief walks to admire the diverse species of native forest and wildlife that thrive within Argentina’s southernmost National Park.

FAQs

Is the tour available year-round?

Yes, the tour is available every day throughout the year.

Can I add tickets for the Train of the End of the World?

Yes, you can. Please check with us in advance so we can arrange it for you.

What should I bring with me?

It’s recommended to bring comfortable clothing, warm layers, waterproof shoes, sunscreen, a camera, and water. Be prepared for changes in weather conditions.

How long does the excursion last?

The excursion lasts approximately 4 hours.

Is lunch included in the excursion?

No, lunch is not included in the excursion. However, there may be opportunities to purchase food during the tour.

How much local history is explained during the experience?

The guide normally provides context about the destination, people, landscape and historical development rather than simply moving between photo stops.

Is this a good activity for the first day in the destination?

Yes. Cultural and orientation-style tours are useful early in a stay because they help visitors understand the geography and decide where they may want to return later.

Will there be opportunities for independent exploration?

Many cultural tours include short periods at stops or attractions, but the exact amount depends on the itinerary. Ask if you want substantial free time at a particular site.

Is this tour mainly about taking photographs or about interpretation?

It offers both, but the added value is the guide’s explanation of the places you see. Travelers who enjoy context and storytelling generally get more from the experience.

Can this experience be combined with another half-day activity?

Often yes if schedules align. It can pair well with a navigation, museum visit, gastronomy experience or a free afternoon, depending on the destination.

Is the experience suitable for travelers with limited walking ability?

Many cultural tours involve relatively short walks, but surfaces and access vary. Travelers with mobility needs should confirm the specific stops before booking.

How can I get the most value from the guide?

Ask questions about local life, history, neighborhoods and regional culture. Guides can often provide context that is difficult to obtain from signage alone.

Is this type of tour useful even if I have already read a guidebook?

Yes. A local guide can connect places with contemporary context, practical details and stories that are rarely captured in general travel guides.

Will the itinerary feel rushed?

The route is structured to cover key points efficiently. If you prefer a slower pace or want more time at one attraction, a private option may be better when available.

What makes this experience different from exploring independently?

The main difference is interpretation and logistics: the guide connects the sites into a coherent story and helps you understand why each stop matters.
