The journey commences at Punta Banderas Port, situated 47 kilometers from the city of Calafate. We provide round-trip transfer service from your hotel in El Calafate to Punta Banderas Port. Alternatively, guests can arrange their own transfers, with a maximum arrival time at the port of 8:30 am.

Departing from Punta Bandera harbor at 9 AM, we will cruise across the waters of Lake Argentino’s Northern Arm, heading towards the furthest point of navigation in the Upsala Channel. Here, visitors can marvel at the breathtaking panoramic view of the massive front of the Upsala Glacier. Upon disembarking near Estancia Cristina, a knowledgeable guide will greet guests and lead them on an exhilarating trek through the surrounding valley. The hike traverses an ecotone area, a stunning semi-arid landscape adorned with native shrubs and grasses. Gradually ascending to a raised viewpoint, guests are treated to sweeping vistas of the valley, Lake Argentino, Lake Pearson, and the majestic Andes Mountains.

Continuing along a gently sloping path surrounded by ñire trees, guests will arrive at the highlight of the trek: Los Perros River Waterfall. Not only does this spot offer awe-inspiring views, but it also serves as an excellent vantage point for observing the diverse flora, including orchids.

After returning from the trek, guests will visit the Costumbrista Museum, housed in the estancia’s historic shearing shed. Here, visitors can delve into the captivating history of the Masters family, learning about their lives, adventures, and pioneering endeavors in Patagonia. Finally, a guided tour will lead fortunate guests around Estancia Cristina’s estate, showcasing landmarks such as the Caterina River, waterwheel, chapel, and the rest of the lodge.
