Your day begins with a morning pick up from your hotel in El Calafate. A comfortable drive across the steppe brings you to Estancia Nibepo Aike, a traditional Patagonian ranch located inside Los Glaciares National Park. Upon arrival you will enjoy time to explore the property and take part in rural activities before sitting down for a classic Patagonian lamb barbecue accompanied by salads, dessert and drinks. Vegetarian options are available with prior request.
After lunch the journey continues toward the Glaciar Sur dock at Puerto Los Pioneros. Here you board the vessel and begin a one hour and twenty minute navigation along the Brazo Sur and Brazo Rico of Lago Argentino. The ride offers impressive views of mountains, lenga forests, cliffs and turquoise waters.
Upon reaching the Playa de las Monedas area, the group disembarks for an easy walk through the forest. This short trail leads to the Mirador de las Rocas, a scenic viewpoint with privileged angles of the southern face of the Perito Moreno Glacier. Travelers who prefer not to walk may remain on board and reach the viewpoint by boat.
After the walk you re board the vessel for a navigation directly in front of the glacier’s south face. The views from the water allow you to appreciate the glacier’s scale, colors and calving fronts. The excursion continues with a final disembarkation at Bajo las Sombras, where a short transfer takes you to the famous walkways. You will have plenty of time to explore the viewpoints and admire the glacier from above.
The return drive to El Calafate departs in the early evening, arriving around 7:30 PM.
