Enjoy a navigation to Grey Glacier, one of the must-see excursions in Torres del Paine National Park. This 3-hour navigation is carried out aboard the Grey III catamaran, where you will delight in an unparalleled landscape of floating icebergs, lush vegetation, and imposing mountains that will amaze you. The pick-up starts at your accommodation in Puerto Natales, and our transportation takes at least 2 hours to reach the Serrano ranger station, where we complete the respective check-in for Torres del Paine National Park. From there, we head directly to the Hotel Lago Grey area to check in before boarding the boat and then begin the navigation. To conclude the excursion, we return to the dock and head directly to the Grey parking area for the journey back to Puerto Natales.
The excursion to Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers offers a captivating journey through the stunning landscapes of Chilean Patagonia. The adventure typically begins at the Puerto Bories pier, located just 15 minutes from the center of Puerto Natales. Once aboard, travelers embark on a scenic navigation, where they can admire the remnants of the historic Bories cold storage plant, once one of the largest meat processing facilities in the region.
As the journey continues, passengers have the opportunity to witness the natural beauty of the area, including a colony of Imperial Cormorants and a small colony of Sea Lions, along with a diverse array of flora such as Coigüe, Canelo, Lenga, Ñire, Chilco, and Calafate. The highlight of the excursion is the chance to see the imposing Balmaceda Glacier from the comfort of the boat.
To visit the Serrano Glacier, travelers disembark and take a 20-minute walk along a scenic trail that borders a picturesque lake, formed by the melting ice from the glacier. This allows for an up-close encounter with the impressive ice formations and a deeper appreciation of the surrounding natural environment.
After exploring the glaciers, the return journey includes a stop at Estancia Perales, where participants are treated to a delicious and hearty regional lunch, providing the perfect opportunity to relax and reflect on the day’s adventures.
The amazing excursion to Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers promises an unforgettable experience, combining breathtaking scenery, wildlife viewing, and cultural immersion in the heart of Patagonia’s wilderness.
