Helicopter Ride in Ushuaia: Heart of the Andes Mountains

After a memorable time spent amidst the mountains, it’s time to board the helicopter once again for the return journey. As you lift off and soar back into the sky, you carry with you memories of a truly unforgettable adventure in one of the world’s most breathtaking landscapes.

We depart from the downtown office in our vehicles heading to the former Ushuaia airport, where we will have a brief safety talk before taking off in helicopters.

We take off towards the North, flying over Ushuaia Bay, the port, and the city, gaining altitude to enter the Olivia River Valley, easily appreciating the majestic Mount Olivia and the characteristic Five Brothers Mountain. We begin to glimpse the magnificent Carbajal Valley, with its surprising composition of peat formed over thousands of years due to the existence of a previous extensive glacier tongue. Continuing our flight through this interesting valley, we reach a second mountain range that houses a beautiful body of water, named Emerald Lagoon due to its color. This site, captivating us with its extraordinary color and surroundings, is one of the most visited attractions by tourists arriving in Ushuaia, especially by trekking and camping enthusiasts.

Then we head South, crossing the Andes through the Encajonado River Valley, reaching the Beagle Channel, and shortly after, we land at the top of Cerro Le’Cloche. The helicopter will land, and once there, we can descend to appreciate the magical surroundings and enjoy a unique moment. From there, we can take unique photos as we’ll have the Beagle Channel and the Andes Mountains right in front of us, with the city of Ushuaia at our feet.

Finally, we return to the heliport where the transfer will be waiting for us.
