ITINERARY

The adventure begins at our base in El Chaltén (Av. San Martín 872), where participants receive technical and safety equipment. After gearing up, you’ll be transported by van 21 km along RP 41 to the Laguna Cóndor Viewpoint near Lake del Desierto. Here, the navigation begins after a safety briefing, as you embark on a 12 km journey down the Río de las Vueltas. This scenic section of the river winds through a beautiful Patagonian Andean forest, with the north face of Fitz Roy towering in the distance. The ride lasts approximately 1.5 hours, depending on river flow and wind conditions.

At the end of the journey, you’ll arrive at Estancia Bonanza, where a delicious lunch awaits with stunning views of Cerro Fitz Roy. After the meal, you’ll return by van to El Chaltén. For those opting out of lunch, the return is scheduled around 1:00 pm.

Does this excursion have any age restrictions?

Minimum age is 12 years old. Minors between 12 and 18 years old who want to do this activity must be accompanied by at least one of their parents.

How does the booking process work?

In case of cancellation due weather conditions, reservations which cannot be reprogrammed will be reimbursed.

What should I bring for the kayaking tour?

It’s recommended to wear lightweight, quick-drying clothing and water-appropriate footwear. Also, bring a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses for sun protection, along with a waterproof bag for your belongings and a camera to capture the scenic views. A towel and a change of clothes can be useful after the tour.
